I use emotional regulation tools to help students understand and manage their feelings, especially during moments of frustration or overwhelm. Along with this, I incorporate executive functioning tools to support students in staying focused, organized, and confident as they work through tasks. Together, these supports allow me to create a calm, structured classroom where students feel supported, capable, and ready to learn.

  • Trauma-Informed Teaching and Parent Communication

I practice trauma-informed teaching by creating a classroom environment that is safe, consistent, and responsive to students’ emotional needs. I strive to be patient, understanding, and mindful that students’ behaviors may be influenced by experiences outside of the classroom. Alongside this, I prioritize open and respectful communication with parents to build trust, provide support, and work together in the best interest of each child. Strong parent communication allows me to better understand my students and ensures consistency between home and school.
